Protecting brand new wheels?

Just bought a set of normal silver wheels (No chrome 22" spinners here i'm afraid)

What is the best product to protect them with?
 
  An orange one
How come you didn't get amphasite?! ;)

I usually use autoglym wheel seal or rimwax on my wheels, I particularly like the autoglym stuff as you just spray it on and buff off

Where can I buy this stuff?

And will TFR damage it? The car olny ever gets washed by the Iranians down the road for £5.

I don't want to waste money on wheel sealer if the first wash is going to strip it bare.

C5 will be fine mate. It'll take more than TFR to remove it. I'm not saying a super duper strong acid won't but nothing will outlast C5 on wheels.

They don't use acid on my cars so this sounds like the ticket.

I've got some Chemical Guys Wheel Guard which is rather nice stuff.

When I received new wheels for my Twingo, I polished them and applied a couple of coats of this.

Admittedly you can wax wheels as you would your bodywork. Just might not last as long.

Would this stuff (c5) be any good for the race car wheels.?

They have just been powder coated, and it would seem a shame not to at least try and protect them against aggressive brake dust.

Thanks Stu, I've just tried cleaning the old set, foook, that was hard. They do get very hot though, would that matter ?

C5 would easily keep the Track car wheels tip top, heat build up shouldn't be an issue.

15ml is more than enough to do 4 wheels, even when you over apply you'll still have left overs. I can't find it now but it's said C5 withstands higher temperatures than the claimed 300'c temp of brake dust etc

a full on wash, de tar, several hits to de iron with something like iron-x, then an IPA wipedown to ensure no oils or residues are left on the surface. Only then is it worth applying C5,
