proximity alarm

Do you mean like a digi-chirp system, or are you talking as in reverse parking sensors?

If you mean digi-chirp, Id say no, they need to be done as part of an additional system, and most alarm installation people wouldnt want to mess around with the renault alarm (warranty, too expensive to get wrong, etc.,). Ive got the cat 1 alarm as standard, and a toad unit with chirp on it which chirps when people come too close to the car.

IIRC the renault one is made by Cobra, you might be able to add to it, but most people tend to get them ripped out and a new one installed.

aye, thats what i mean, something that will beep when peeps start to touch it and generally hang about it, what is it? are the mk1 172, mk2 and cup alarms all the same?
