PS3 data transfer

need to transfer the data from my 60GB PS3 to a slim,

is it just a case of copying all to a external HD and trasnfering it over?

they have a built in transfer utility , just need to plug an Ethernet between the 2 but I'll pre warn you it takes a good 3 hours or so to transfer 60gb ( mine was full to the brim )
