PS3 died... strange one!?

So my PS3 just randomly switched off mid MW2.

Now the red light sits there flashing, if I press on/off it goes solid like it's properly off. Then if I press it again it comes on for one second, then switches right back off again

The pad is doing nothing! i.e. isn't turning the PS3 on... also I can't eject either.

Have turned everything off and left it for a while, but nope, same s**t.

Is it dead!?

dont meant to be a c**t but this is why pc's are 109876567 times better. BSOD tells you what is wrong ftw. and if its something really bad, if you open the case you can see whats on fire/smells so you know whats fucked.

Plus, being a PC gamer means you have no mates. That'll save you money too.

I think I'd rather have a £300 console that's up to date for three years and I can play in HD on my 42" LED.

But yeah, PC's are ok too.

also sounds like an over heating problem.. i would leave it off. and get a hoover onto the fans wherever they are placed. give it a break and switch it back on.

Was this after the latest update? Mine died today, immediately after the update.

it has what is known as YLOD ( yellow light of death ) , it is possible to repair it to get your game out and backup your hard drive (if you haven't done already) but requires you to open it and blast it with a heat gun follow this guide if you fancy taking that route... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U70SgRDVcBo i had to do this myself and i can guarantee the fix works

Yeah I have heard of the YLOD, however what put me off is that there's no yellow light? I'll have a look at the video anyway, thanks.
