PS3: Installing other OS

Anyone actually attempted to install another operating system on their PS3 yet?

there was a big thread about it, YDL is the OS of choice,

I was until I realised that you need USB keyboard and mouse ( i only have wireless) and it doesn't support wireless and i am miles from my router so don't really want a cable.

I was all up for doing it and will do once it supports wireless

I have YDL installed and all is good

I only use it for media streaming with VLC

Ubuntu have now released a Live CD that works with the PS3, may be worthwhile downloading this and testing it in your PS3.

I downloaded the CD and it freezes at 15% install. Apparently you will need to download the alternate version.
