PS3 Jailbreak

With everyone p'ed off at the f-up which Sony has got themselves into with, first removing the other os feature and now the crap with the PSN issue. Has anyone decided to jailbreak their ps3 for other reasons?

Don't they instantly know now if you were to play online? Wouldn't be worth it as that's the reason I play games.

I decided to do mine the other day, as I don't use the thing any more and wanted to make the Blu Ray region free (US import), so started to research it. Turns out I can't as I'd updated mine to 3.60 and all the devs have currently given up with releasing info due to the Sony v Geohot and Sony v Other guy whose name I can't remember.

It will be interesting to see what happens when PSN comes back on line with the currently JB consoles out there, I'm expecting a lot of upset people.

I thought because the hackers had gotten hold of the signing keys the network is unable to recognise any un-official software/firmware running.?

and what will sony have been upto while the network has been down. they could of added anything to combat hacking. i reckon there will be a massive update.

Every game released has the signing key if they changed it nothing will work lol.

There is also rumors that all licensed game developers are being shipped new SDK's, and that they are being forced to re-compile all the DLC addon's, and all their game patchs, before Sony will even think of turning on the new PSN network!

Ok so it's only a rumour but even still I doubt Sony aren't going to take this opportunity to try and crack down on the jailbreakers/piracy/fun.

some of the newer games that require firmware 3.60 have a different signing key so it's game over until somebody cracks 3.60.....portal 2 is one, im sure all the newer games will require it soon
