ps3 or 360?

I've been hovering over this idea for a few weeks. Been wanting an Xbox 360 but can get a PS3 imprted for about £337 I think it was? Decided to stick with neither atm due to finances

I was asking my self the same Q. Looking at comparisons on the net, it looked like there was nothing in it graphics wise, if not 360 had edge!
Theres loads of good games out fo the 360 aswell, so i bought one, i wouldnt buy a ps3 for £450..

cash aint realy a problem, just heard the ps3 aint as good as the hype.
also means waiting another few months because i havent pre-ordered one and im not paying stupid money for one id rather wait untill they are in stock.

you can go online with the core if you want.. but I wouldnt buy a core is a false econemy.. buy the premium !definately get the premium.
360 is the best console out at the minute period. It has a big enough back catalogue of games and the only PS3 title worth playing at the minute, that you cant get on 360, is Resistance: Fall of man.
The PS3 is a great console, and am sure when it has been out for a year (as 360 has) it will have better titles but at the minute 360 wins hands down.

Played on a mates 360, not that great TBH. Project gothams graphics are poo, and cod3 is a rip off of cod 2....gears of war is too short and repetitive. only game ive played id pay for is Rainbow Six.....its more a novelty item than a decent console, lacks a killer game. I'd wait until their both out to decide

best way to do it is to buy a xbox premium with a screwed up flash or the 3lights error explain to the dumb ass ebay seller how to read the ligths to get the error code google its fix and fix it.
I have 4 working Xbox 360's. sold 2 of them for a fortune and paid approx £40-80 each for them and got 2 core system's one's sat on my tv in the living room the other is in my car and I'm thinking of getting one for in my room just to be a nerd! or just because I can.
p.s. If anyone can find a DC-DC converter for the Xbox360 to use it properly in my car instead of from an inverter I'll buy you a pint and send it to you in the mail.

Obviously playing it on a bad TV then, as there are scenes in PGR3 which I could swear were real...
The PS3 has been letdown after letdown. And the biggest hope for Blu-Ray media over HD-DVD doesn't even have the DualShock controllers that made PS and PS2 so much fun...

PGR3, as said, you must have played it on a rubbish TV cos it looks pretty awesome, how can you say Gears is too short if you've only 'played it on a mates' (tbh it isnt - sounds like a few media soundbites coming out here, hmm...) and how can you say COD3 is a rip off of COD2? Its a sequel! Thats like saying Terminator 2 is a rip of Terminator. Its more of the same with improvements which is the point.
And really, how can it be a novelty console?? Theres nothing novel about it, its simply an out and out games console that does everything brilliantly and doesnt pretend to do anything else. Where's the novelty in that? Now the Wii, thats a novelty...
There is little point buying a PS3 over a 360 really. The 360 is ahead on the graphics race (if that floats your boat) it has far, far superior games, and much, much better on line gaming. The only plus point for PS3 is the inclusion of Blue Ray, but if you read the AV mags, HD DVD is already outdoing Blue Ray as a format.

The issues with PGR3's graphics are well known and due to some technical issues that are way beyond the comprehension of a Playstation owner.
The graphics are not technically speaking in 720p, more like 600p (but stretched up to fill the screen) if I remember correctly which is why it looks a bit blocky and the AA doesn't cover up the jaggies. Without getting too technical it was due to the game being rushed out before the hardware was fully understood and relates to a section of the memory used for graphics. They could have fixed the problem but it wouldn't have been ready for launch.

It's definately worth buying the 360 now rather than waiting. Most people who have alread imported a PS3 report that for gaming it is offering nothing better than the 360. The PS3 currently lacks the great online gaming experience you can get with the 360 and instead offers a very limited service. These things will improve but I think we will be waiting till this time next year.

This console vs console drivel is pointless. A balanced view seems impossible reading this and other threads. I am afraid people will never admit that something they haven't got is better than what they own.

360 is a noisy machine, the disc is constanly spinning making a loud whirling noise, its a joke. after 6-7hrs of game play it froze, was playing all day for the last few days this happened twice. it can't take the game play, it gets too hot and freezes no warnings, no chance of saving your game or anything completly dead had to turn it off and back on...
piece o s**t. ruinned my GRAW game, but managed to complete it.
and has a big psu, you gotta put some where.
ps3 - definately get one. you got G turismo, and that monster truck type game, definaltey wait and get it,plus you get the blue ray drive where u gotta pay an extra 100quid to get that from ms. Also the Xbox 360 2 will be out in a few months with a bigger hard drive and HDMI connector. so dont' go and buy a new 360 now. wait, wait wait.

People will tell you im far from a MS fanboy.. but my 360 never crashes although I dont think I have ever played for more than a few hours..
The external PSU is both a good and bad thing, its good because if you ever need to replace it due to a fault you dont have to get rid of the whole 360 but its a pain because its fecking huge. I mean the wii has an external PSU but it doesnt bother me as its tiny in comparison.

Personally my money is on the 360 winning this generation of console wars. But the PS3 has a lot going for it !!

online on 360 is just completely mint, nothin can beat it. COD3 is mint aswell, PGR3 i fort wo quite good graphics myself but i prefer gameplay its all about game play. which is why online gamin is so good
the 360 isnt loud if u put it on its side, and if you keep it ventilated its fine, i have played mine for and kept it on for 5hrs plus and it was fine. Forza is as good at Gturismo and halo 3 yeeeyy. lol

I have always been a Sony fanboy, and vowed to nevr touch a MS console. But then Sony dropped the ball completely and announced the PS3 wouldnt be released here til March. At this point I cancelled my Ps3 preorder and used the £20 desposit towards a 360.
Since then I never looked back, it really is a fantastic console! Bought it last Oct for £320 with two games (wasnt bad at the time) and personally think it's an amazing machine. I wouldnt pay £430 now for something which is basically going to do the same. Also, it's going to take 12 months for the games to reach the same price as the xbox's.
I still have a PS3 pre-ordered with Gamestation. I called them the other day, and they told me that I'd have it delivered on launch day since I had a preorder with them online since last May, and at that time i was number 80 on the central preorder list, so I can only have got closer to the top!!!
I think I will sell it on eBay, but I am tempted to put it into a deal with my car which is up for sale. Maybe charge £6700 for the car (currently up for £6395) and send the PS3 through as soon as it arrives.
Or sell a PS3 for £6700 with free ps3?!!

I was waiting for the PS3 but decided to buy a 360 and am so glad I did. Sadly I don't have broadband so have yet to test out Live but at the moment I love playing on it. Only downside can be the noise of the console, its not to bad though and certainly makes up for it with the stunning graphics and gameplay
Yeah but you are paying £145 more for the PS3 in comparison to the 360 so it's not really any different. It's not like Sony are giving you more for the same cash, you are paying for it.
