Push Start

Our Laguna II have them

But i guess they are ok, but whats the point? all that effort and you can just turn the key. But if you get N02 you can get a cool panel with arming switch top gun style and the starter button...all in one

I was also wondering if the key was needed anymore ie the steering lock or would this be a different device setup?

I would have thought that a normal add-on one would just hook on to the same wires that are present on position three of the key lock, so you would still need the key in there and at position 2 in order to drive it.

i did this to my old car u can buy the buttons for a few pence and you just take the wire off ur ignition switch and run it too your new one so the start pos doesnt work anymore but you still have to turn the key and put ignition on before you can fire up , i thought it was cool, once uve had it for a bit getting in another car has u reaching for the button which looks silly

  FOR SALE - Mk1 V6

got it on my RT.
Still have you use the key to turn the power on then press the button.
looks cool and kind of has a security benefit cos most dont realise that it starts the car and that turning the key more doesnt do anything but put the power on.
id probably go for it again in my next car.
just make sure its in a good position..

i dont see the point really if you still gotta put the key in, i think it would be cool for about 3 times then it would annoy me

Brun, this is true. I fitted one in my old 5 turbo and used it 3 or 4 times then lost interest. But its very handy if you stall as you dont have to sod about switching the ignition on and off, just hit the button and your off again! Was quite handy as my uprated clutch was quite heavy and very hard to feed in gently, so I had a few embarasing moments.!!!
