Putting a car stereo aerial in your dash

Just wondering if it would work really as some kn*b jockey has ripped the aerial off my roof completly just leaving holes and some bent metal :/ Car security is sorted no I got my motion sensored sniper rifle looking over my car > : )

Anyway will it work?? (the aerial that is)











Yes the sniper rifle is just me joking. Well for the moment anyway lol

You can get glass mount antenna that stick inside the screens.

One of my cars has both radio and cellular antenna in the front screen as its a cabriolet, and my saloon has both in the back screen.

Check Panorama or Hirschmann as a source.

You will have to put them in the rear though if your car has a silvered front windscreen like the Sports.

I just got a normal windscreen in my car - some of the windows are tinted tho. I was thinking of putting the aerial somewhere in the dash - maybe behind the heater controls or something

I think thats just asking for interference problems.

I installed a DAB radio in one of the family cars and made my own DAB antenna for it out of a piece of coax. I simply stuck it inside the "A" post capping strip on the passenger side and it works great.

You could try that.

Ive brought a car aerial from ebay that is flexible and bendy so gonna give it a bash. I'll take some pics and post them up when I get around to doing it

Quick update - got an aerial of ebay for £4 and stuck it in the dash and it works fine - picks up all the stations fine
