Q: front caster

hi all, i whant to someone to share with me about bigger caster on ph1.. what’s the difference compared to ph1 standart caster, what’s the difference in driving?

i’m allready did this, just hadn’t time to test drive, i had one lower arm from ph1 172, and right side arm with different caster, i can’t get sport lower arm..

Ph1 172 & Non Cup Ph2 172 share the same wishbones.

These are interchangeable with the 172 Cup & all 182`s items with the revised caster.

It looks like you welded in whatever you have got there, and then redrilled them?

Have you had the car aligned to see the gain? I love how mines set up with 4.7 castor and 2.6 camber. Wouldn’t mind more on both though!

Theres a direct comparison between normal 172 lower arm and 172 cup lower arm

More caster gives you more steer negative camber on the outside wheel and reduces negative camber on the inside wheel. If you run lots of caster you shouldn’t need lots of static negative camber.

Basically, good caster setting will use both front tyres more effectively meaning more mechanical grip. The downside is increased steering weight due to increased mechanical trail or caster trail.
