i would say a late phase, 1 dependant on seats and rear lights, paint code is on the metal plate at the front drivers side wing

Thats a phase 1 because its got smooth rear lights, plain bumpstrip with diff font writing, diff bumpstrips, diff seats with no height adj, diff rear wiper, and the button for the windows on drivers side arent single touch open.

Yeah on the phase 2 the Renault Clio writing on the boot is not on the plastic trim but above it;) and on the phase 2 its not plastic but carbon fibre (me thinks:confused:)

Cheers guys, BenR my car has got 1 touch open and close on the drivers side window!

But everything else sounds right so Phase 1 it is!

No, airbags were not standard. Only N reg monaco blue valvers had air bags as standard.

my phase 2 16v reg on 01/08/94 does not have an air bag :)

my mates 16v also on an m reg and sport blue like my car, does have one,

but ive got leather and he hasnt !

The exs on an M-plate didnt have an airbag - I prefer the look of em without it! Though I may have changed my mind were I to have been heading towards something very solid at high speed...

Thats a late phase 1. Paint code will be 449. Find it on the VIN plate on the panel just above the headlight.

All late phase 2s have the airbag (well Ive seen blue, black, red & met red with them). I have also seen some very late valvers with grotty plastic airbag wheels instead of leather (one was brand new in local showroom at the time).

Later Phase2 models came with a drivers airbag as standard as of May 1995 (as with all the range) - and it had nothing to do with colour!

The Phase1 came with two cloth interior trims and the £1000 leather option: the initial one had old Renaultsport logos on them (until late 1992) and the later one was the interior in the picture above.
