i know you use this stuff to lubricate when claying and can use it on its own as well but when you use it on its own, does it take off the wax that is on the car already or does it just take off the contaminants that havent bonded to your paint yet?

It shouldn't affect the wax or sealant at all and won't remove any contaminants. It's literally just a glossing agent and used by most for either "topping up" the wax in between layering, as a drying aid after a wash or during claying to decrease resistance.

I use the Meguiars NXT Gen one after a wash every time, gets rid of any water marks and chamois marks and streaks.

That's the reason you are getting these marks. Get rid, now! It will also be damaging your paintwork massively!

Since Sy is quiet at the moment, I am going to take his praise.

So, "Thanks".
PMSL, some of us are "working". ;)
what should i be using to dry then? :S
Good quality micro fibre towel. For example, my personal favourite, the Miracle dryer which you can find on the i4d site. I'd link you but the sites blocked at work. :(
