Quick detaillers

  www.renparts.co.uk
im a car dealer from home. I give all the cars a really good clean but between viewings (especially if theyre in the garage) a wipe over with QD is fine.... or for removing bird s*it, well i was using megs quick detailler as i had it left over from when i clayed and i was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a product (prefferably in a larger spray bottle) that i can use for the job. and where to get it from. Many thanks

megs last touch is a massive dilutable QD, try cleanandshiny i think they have it, oh and it's the same as what your are using at the mo

Megs Last Touch as above it the most cost effective.

Clearkote Quickshine can be bought in US Gallons, as can some of the Chemical Guys ones.

what exactly is detailing spray? and what are its purposes? and what can be achieved with it?

Two fold really - can be used to remove light dust and can be used after washing to restore that just waxed look.

ahh right i was thiking of using it after the drive down to fcs currently trying to rest my arms atm after using the pc quite alot paint is in horrible condition

I use QD on slightly heavier 'dust' and dirty marks but can only get away with doing this because silver hides the swirls well, would never try it on a darker coloured car.

You may get away with it depending on how dirty the car gets. There are ones like Poorboys Spray and Wipe which are formulated a waterlesses washes. Neither will replace a proper wash on heavier grime on dark colours unless you want to undo all the hardwork done with that PC.

im going to be travelling behind another car all the way down to try and reduce the amount of bugs on the front, whats the best way to clean when i arrive, take a couple of bottles of water?

hmm i hope there's water there bit worried now as the cars looking cleanish now would be a shame to spoil it, kinda went mad with the blue masking tape though almost ended up doing flames on the car

You will smell the wax from the Forest, follow your nose.

Jokes aside, I am off work Thurs and Fri if you really are serious!

Thanks for the offers rich. I may take you up on it if I don't have to work fri. Let you know soon.

Still got a little polishing to go on the lower parts of the car. Decided I'd won't take anymore clearcoats off for the minor marring.

No worries.

Finished polishing mine on Sat - but the same here, still minor marks in the bonnet but keeping the car for the forseeable so have decided to leave them.

Rich, you mentioned about Zymol Detail Spray, but what is the difference between this and Field Glaze, apart from the price? I always thought that Field Glaze was a QD type product? Or would it be used more for the looks rather than the cleaning properties of other QD's? Just curious.

Jack.

The Field Glaze is more of a liquid spray wax than QD to remove dust. I use both - The Detail Spray to remove light dust if the car has been in the garage or after a wash, then use the Field Glaze after as a touch up between costs of wax.
