does anyone know which relay in a 16v does the fuel pump please? cant seem to find the info anywhere on which one it is

its in the engine relay box on the n/s inner wing.one of the small black relays. i will check if you want,whats the reg year of the car?

its an l reg valver, but apperently it doesnt say anywhere what the relay is, if u could mate would be much appreciated!

look at the relay box from the passenger side.starting from the left the relays are:-

599-coolant pump relay

238-injection locking relay

234-cooling fan relay

so which does fuel pump? no.2?

oh sh*t sorry ill have another look.for some reason i looked up the fan relay sorry mate.i think the fuel pump is the large relay in the relay box.ill check tomorrow.you can gain access to the fuel pump wiring by an access flap under the rear seats.you could check relay operation by checking for a feed here.you cant see the fuel pump(only the sender unit)but there is a connecter block that you can see that goes to the fuel pump.

top row of relays from the left

238-injection locking relay

234-radiator fan relay

599-coolant pump relay

bottem row of relays from the left

569-coolant pump timer relay

236-fuel pump relay

looked at your link.your fault sounds like a short circuit somewhere.is there a location number at the side of the fuse?

well im not sure which it is ill have to ask him, we were wondering if it could be the wrong type of relay put in N/O - N/C ??

doubt its the relay unless the relay has a short circuit inside it.

its only happened since the relay has been changed - the fuse blowing thing

check the relay pins and the connections in the relay holder/connecter.if all ok get a new genuine relay and try that.

i told him try pull the relay out and then c if fuse still blows, aint heard from him since though

if he pulls the relay out then it might not blow anyway because half the circuit now open so it wouldnt show any problems on the after relay side because that is now inactive.your best to fit a new relay to eliminate it.
