Quick insurance question.

Ive been talking to my mum and ive tried to find an answer on the internet, But cant seem to find exactly what i want to know (or how to phrase it properly)

We have 2 cars.

If she was to keep her car insured with direct line and keep the ncb she has on it...

Could she insure me in her name with me as a named driver on the clio with a different company, And have a ncb on the clio, Because its a different company?

Or does it not work like that?

Cheers

i thought you could only use your NCB on one car? only few companies let you transfer them onto different cars at the same time AFAIK

I'm with direct line. I phoned them recently to see about potentially insuring a runaround and they would allow my NCB to be used against both cars.

When I asked to add another driver they said the NCB would no longer be applicable on the second car due to the named driver being a greater risk!

i thought you could only use your NCB on one policy at a time, end off. I thought this was the rule.

You can only use NCB on 1 policy but what most companies will do, is if you take out a second policy with the SAME company, they will give you a discount equivalent to that NCB.

But as said above, your Mum might have to be the main driver, and so therefore, technically voiding your insurance if you will be driving it more.
