how do you know when you need a new clutch?

it starts slipping.

To test, put in 5th at 30 and floor it. if the revs spike quickly and the speed stays the same, chances are its slipping. Otherwise, it will probably be ok.
Remember that clios tend to have very high bite points anyways.

Hmm, one quick way to describe it is basically changing gear and the clutch is fully out, and the revs climb but the speed doesn't increase.

ah right ill try that tomorrow thanks dude, what it is, the bite point is really high and when im in second pulling off i get a funny noise and i cant put my finger on what it is.. my uncle said it could be the clutch but he didnt know how to find out if it was.

is it a big job to change the clutch?

lol well you know when you pull in and slow down (not quite stopped) to let some one on-coming past and dont go into first thats when it does it... its a 02 52000miles

but im sure untill ur doing very slow speed untder 10mph they dont go in
