Quick mac question

Just got mine fixed after the HDD decided to s**t itself. I now need to pull all of my tunes back from my Ipod rather than ripping the lot disc by disc again. What widget/application can i use to import the lot straight back to itunes on my desktop?

make sure on your system that 'show all hidden files' is ticked in the properties box

go to start>my computer>ipod>ipod_control>music and all the music files are in there

just import them to itunes by clicking 'add folder to library' and do each one sepeately.

of course, this is a guide for windows as i dont know what the settings etc are on a mac, but just have a play around with that and see what you can do

The ipod will resync but because it does so using itunes on your desktop as the master it will sync my ipod to match thereby wiping the lot. I need a piece of software that will allow me to dump all my music from the ipod back into itunes on my desktop.

Surely someone must know of a widget or app that can do this.

Any of these unlimited? The couple i've tried are only free to use for a couple of hundred songs after that you have to buy the software. Yes I'm a pikey, lol.

Ah hard disk failure on a Mac. You know I'm just about to take the leap and get one, but the only thing that's disturbing me is the thought of not being able to keep a collection of filth on it, in case it has to go in for repair. Anyone care to enlighten me on their methods? :D

If you're that bothered you should just have an external usb HDD for filth or burn it to disc.

I had mine repaired in Reading while I waited even watched the bloke while he did it. Old HDD was put back in my hand and is sat at home at the moment I'm going to try and repair/recover whats on it but I'm not confident its possible. Newer mac should be less of an issue as from what I've read on the net mine (a G5 with isight) is about the only model that a HDD swap requires professional repair the rest you can access and swap easily.
