Quick MOT Question

I have to drive my new rusty Fiesta to get it MOT'd 2moro. However the car is SORN and the pervious MOT expired a few months ago.

If I get it insured can I drive it, legally, to the MOT station? I have heard that if you have a appointment booked, which I do, you cna drive it as long as you have insurance? Is this true?

i think you can, needs to have mot to get tax so i think you will be fine mate.

like you said only there and back though, if you get pulled and they think you're going the long way then might get done for it?

Nope doesnt have any tax, but as Pepsi said you need a MOT to get tax.

It will defo only be there and back, im a s**t bag when it comes to taking risks in the car lol!

Yeah so long as its insured for you and MOT is booked and your driving at a reasonable time to be going for the mot its fine mate

Only about a 5 min drive, didnt want to take the risk tho as I would be the unlucky bastart that would get caught lol!

John, its booked for first thing in the morning. If a copper stops me I could just ask him to phone the mot station i suppose.

See the thing that gets me is the car is SORN, i know you can take a car to the testing station if it's Mot has expired but this is what it says on the dvla website

When SORN has been declared for a vehicle the registered keeper must ensure that it will not be used or kept on a public road until a new licence has been taken out.

as long as the test is pre booked it is ok to drive on the road.... but it depends what mood mr police man is in also i would think !!! if he wants brownie points he might just fine ya and take ya to court !!!!! LOL
