Quick (no doubt easy) question (door trim related)

This plastic door trim pillar, does it simply pull off with a bit of force? It squeaks when I drive, the previous owner appears to have tried wedging a few bits of plastic in there to stop it, but it's not effective, and the noise is starting to annoy me, any ideas people?

It just pops off.

Any ideas about the squeak? I might just replace the pillar, the top popper bit won't stay attached anyway.

Stick foam behind it.

Yeah, that's what the guy before me did; I can't see exactly where the contact is being made, causing the squeak.
