quick on about a 172 backbox

either keeping powerflow backbox ive got the now, or putting the Magnex twn 3.5" backbox and then getting C+C to make me up a stainless steel centre section and decat, are C+C any good? ive heard lots of good stories about them

the original back boxes are the same(same size and mounts). its the centre section and cat that are different.

Jay,No there not, thats why your mk2 exhaust you have for sale has 2 mounts on the backbox and our mk1s only have 1.When you buy a magnex for a mk1 you get a mount with it which bolts under your original mount and spans across to the other side of the backbox, thus giving 2 mounts to make it more secure.

They may well be,but when i bought a 6x4 magnex for my first 172 in 2000,before most of you knew what a 172 was,it came with the extra bracket because the mk1 only has 1 mount which means when you put a heavy bb on it it may move around hence the need for a second bracket, obviously Renault realised their mistake on the mk1 and put a second hanger on the mk2.

Instead of me telling you how it is,why dont you look under a mk1 and mk2 and you will see the difference.

original renault back boxes on the clio 2 phase 1 and 2 both only have one mount. the second mount you have seen is a bolt on extra mount made by magnex for example not renault. the clio 2 phase 1 and 2 back boxes look exactly the same and both only have one mount-fact!

the exhaust i have for sale is a custom job and uses its own mounts not renaults that why it has two hangers. i bought a magnex for my cup which are a phase 2 and that came with the extra mount because the original system only has 1 mount. phase 1 and 2 back boxes are the same and both only have 1 mount.
