quick Q. standard disks, bad fade?

from the stock RS brake setup, changing the pads, lines n fluid is the best benificial value for money/performance upgrade, yea?

or is it a must the disks need upgrading Aswell or are stock disks good enough?

for Fast Road use, Not track.

just its either new tarox front disks or set of 4 Pe2's.

If your changing the pads, would be a good idea to change the discs too to get the most out of them. Depends what condition the discs are in.
Tbh, Brembo HCs are less than £60 for a front set, hardly breaking the bank

what's the signs of badly worn disks,

Feel their edges. The disk itself wears down but the edges don't. any more than about 4mm flare is worn out
