Quick question RE. hard disk and xp.

Someone has just asked me this question about file encryption and windows xp.

If I have a laptop, and I take the hard disk out of it, make it a slave in a desktop computer, does it loose all file encryption? Will I be able to view the files on the laptop hard disk?

xp doesnt encrypt files

It does if you tell it too (file names are default green colour when encrypted)

Are you on about NTFS permissions?

I think it keeps the NTFS permissions (can't remember TBH) but you should beable to take ownership as a admin?

Usually yes. You can always highlight ones you ant and enter properties and in security is a tab somewhere which lets you take ownership.
