Quick Question

  2004 Racing Blue 182

How much would i be lookin at spendin on a valver with a willy engine in it???

ive recently sold my valver for an mr2 n/a and wish i never did it, my valver was so much more fun to drive and actually felt quicker in a straight line, i prefer the looks of the mr2 but miss the sound of my magnex on the redline whilst cannin the ass off some higher priced, thinks-its-fast car then seeing there face in the mirror as the realise they have just been pasted by a little clio!!!

i would quite happily return to a 1.8 but quite fancy the willy engined one, and before anyone mentions it i cant afford the insurance on a real willy as im saving for a holiday!

cheers to all who reply.

i ve just done the same thing mate and swapped my valver for an MR2. cant say i regret it at all to be honest. i think the 2 handles better-its certainly got more grip and carries much more speed through corners. mines a N/a but isnt standard. they only feel quicker in a straight line because the 2s gearing is so much longer. i hit 105 in 3rd last night in mine.

i think a decent willy converted valver goes for about 3k min.

is ur 2 a uk car or import? mines a uk t bar with full leather, it is quick im not disputin that, im just not as attached to it as i was to my valver, the only reason i got rid was because ive always wanted a 2 and now ive got one i really dont think they are all they are cracked up to be, have u had the back skip out on you yet? its bloody frightnin especially when u have slicks on the back!!!

yeah, mines a rev 3 uk t bar. Yeah, had the back go a couple of times last night on wet roundabouts. sh*ts you up when youre not expecting it yeah.

i know what youre saying about feeling as attached to it as the valver. the valver is a much more involving drive. My 2s got fully uprated suspension, full exhaust inc decat, chipped and an IK so its really not a bad drive at all.i do miss the noise of the valver though-mine used to sound awesome.

my 2 has full s/s decat janspeed exhaust and k&n ans is lowered 30mm, its a rev2 93L reg, what colour is yours mate? mines black.

Ive already made my mind up on another valver though, its just a case of sourcin one and shiftin the 2

mines in british racing green. being the rev 3 it had the revised rear suspension etc. handles a lot better. yours was only 157 brake as standard where as mines 173. same 0-60s and all that though.

you wont have any problems shifting it coming up to the summer, especially it being black mate.
