Not too sure but I wouldn't think iron x and tarsus would be used on a soft top.. I'd just use an apc with a stiff brush then rinse allow to dry and apply gtech I1

I would assume ironx would melt fabric (it probably won't but to be safe, keep it the fek away!!) .. it's nasty stuff.

Go to i4detailing / CYC and browse........

  Corsa Van. Meh.
When I did our soft top I used G Technique W2 cleaner with a stiff brush. Did the job.

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Im sure a soft top would have very little iron or tar contaminants. as said an all purpose cleaner, i used GT W2, and a stiff brush will suffice in cleaning.

have a look at the range available on i4detailing

  Abarth 500
Keep both away from soft tops - absolutely not neccessary. A gentle APC solution sprayed on and agitated with a nail brush or similar should be all you need. A wet vac is also handy as this helps remove the grime and also aids drying :)

Nothing to add to the above, apart from perhaps suggesting looking at protecting it afterwards to minimise the number of times you need to clean it in your ownership...

Oh dear. I suggest you do a lot of homework before you do this then!

Are you protecting it too?

its not a customer its a friend as such. but sorry didnt know that i would be slatted for never detailing a soft top before? it was a simple question. i thought everyone had a first at things.

and for everyone thinkign im cleaning it, im not even touching the soft top as there isnt any need, he only wants the bodywork protected

Not slating you mate simply saying you shouldn't be doing a 'customers' car if you don't know whats what.

When you said customer it immediately made me think they would be paying ££ for a service. Most people wont be satisfied they have got value for money unless it is perfect hence it isn't a good idea to do things your inexperienced on.

ok maybe i just got a little defensive, my bad!
noo haha they arent paying a penny, im doing it just to the enjoyment of it and also for the pictures to get a good portfolio together, and because its a very high end car i was abit nervous to disappoint!
yeah i know what you mean, but guessed that tardis and ironx would be a no go with soft tops, as i work with them alot and seen what crazy s**t they do! just was unsure hat chemicals autofinesse's snowfoam has in it :)

did anyone know about the chemicals in snow foam affecting soft tops then?
