Quick Tyre Question

  Suzuki SV1000S

If I have 16s with 195/45/16 tyres. Will I be able to fit 205/45/16 Tyres As this will give me a larger range to choose from!

Also will I loose or gain performnace from the wider tyres.

205 is NOT a problem, it is within the 2.5 % rolling diameter.

You will lose performance in terms of accelleration - i dont notice it.

You will gain performance in corners - i do notice it.

You wont notice anything in loss you will find it a better drive probably like the 205s on the 182 compard to the 195s on the 172 ....

i find it quite the opposite.

surely the tyre wall is the same size, and as the profile is wider it will not flex as much?

(technically it is slightly bigger, but 45% of 195 and 45% of 205 is that tiny that the manufacturers say it is within tolerance of speedo / rolling resistance as far as I am aware)

The tyrewall is a % of the tread width and as such 45% of 205 is greater than 45% of 195.

by less than 2.5% ^^^ as i said above?

205mm width by 45mm tyre wall and 16" diameter thats how i have always took tyre measurements to be has it changed ....

would you like me to measure them all tonight.

make your point... rather than asking questions?
