Quick Waxes

Hi,

At the moment I've not got the time or money to spend on loads of different polishes and waxes etc although I do like to keep the car looking presentable. It looks decent after a typical wash but I would like to give it an extra shine. I've been looking at the quick waxes that Megs make and they're said to add shine and protect. Are these any good or are there any other products which would work?

I understand that it's not going to be the best shine and protection ever but I'm looking for something that'll improve slightly on the basic wash.

Thanks in advance

Erm....leave quick waxing out. Waxes arent hugely durable anyway, if your going to do it do it properly.

How about, just use Zaino Z8, or Megs 135. Both spray sealants. Spray, wipe, buff same area with dry cloth. very easy to use, quick, and lasts its worth. Will make the car easy to wash and dry, should last 2 months providing you wash correctly.

Zaino Z5 Polish and ZFX (5-7 drops) provide good looks and good protection, i have some beading pics somewhere. Protection lasts 6 months but application required a full car coating, wait 15 mins or so, and buff off. Easy enough to do but then will take you about an hour.

Can get all products from Cleanyourcar.co.uk

135 will bead as follows after a single wash.

Z8 is much the same.

And then Z5 with ZFX does the following.

I'd highly reccomend colli insulator wax! Used it last night, the beading is out of this world! soo tight!

Its in a squeezie bottle, easy to apply & remove.

Cheers for the replies. Zaino Z8 or Megs 135 looks like the best bet for me.

The Collinite insulator, Z5 and ZFX look abit more complicated in use.

Am I best claying the car before applying or is it OK to apply straight after a TBM wash?

Just apply Zaino Z8 after washing/drying.

Although I still dont see the point in using Z8 without any other products underneath.

Hence why I said Demon Shine, seriously. (it has its uses! Not that I would use in on mine!)

Have a look on there I would go for maybe the Britemax quick detailer or the 3m quick wax (for the price) Z8 is quite expensive

If you want quick, long lasting protection, look into Chemical Guys' Blitz Spray. I use to top the Clio up with it after a clean. Took 15 minutes, tops.

I want Z8 as i'm a wh0re but it would just detract from the Glasur sheeting/beading to be honest so I think it would be wasted. :(

OOOO yeah VERY good shout...forgot about that.

AG Aqua Wax was pretty good when I used it. Then again my knowledge is minimal so my definition of 'good' is probably very much different to most here.

However it was easy to apply, and is still beading nicely a few weeks after applying it. Again, having said that, I don't know what constitutes 'good beading'.

It is a sealant at the end of the day. I used M135 (and Z8 when i still had it) to protect my dads new car, ended up completely bare after about 6 weeks once the steeler protection was gone, so i topped it up with 135 to make washing, and more importantly, drying easier. Both products add a little bling too.

I used, for the first time in about 2yrs, mothers reflection spray wax, wipes on/off with ease, Awesome finish too! :) Big fan.

I probably wouldn't use it if the car had been polished, sealed etc, but not had any time for that chatter.

After a bit more scouring round the internet and DW I'm fairly sure I want one of two products. Either Poorboys EX-P or Chemical Guys Blitz Spray. The Chem Guys seems to be a big favourite amongst many people but I've heard the Poorboys is excellent on light coloured cars. Both look reasonably priced and both as easy as each other to apply.

Which would be the best or are they both as good as each other?

Cheers

You've answered you own question really lad. I personally have Chem Guys product and find it superb. So I'd say go with that.
