Quietest stealth system...

Going to change my exhaust to a stealth one but because I do a far few miles would like the quietest one, which is the quietest one?

I currently have Magnex Twin 3.5" Round which they no longer make, if it is quieter than that I will be happy.

Thanks mat.

I swapped a K-tec stealth for a Pro-speed which is quieter. Its not exactly stealthy though; people can here me coming. But then I like the noise, its not OTT

my GDI isnt to loud unless i put my foot down, and then its deep. its either that or ktec....both aftermarkets are going to be resonabley loud

I have got used to the Magnex so as long as it is not louder then its fine, anyone got a comparison? Or decibel figures for exhausts?

The OE one not only costs more than most but suffers normal Renault build quality, a bloke in a shed in wales could prob do better ;)

TBH my prefered choice would be the Orbisound but that prob isnt cheaper than the Renault one and i have no idea what they sound like. Anyone in the south west got one?

I believe Orbisoud exhausts are pretty loud

Speak to Fred (Yozzasport) as I believe he deals with them and would have an idea what they sound like.

Orbisoud do not make a full cat back system for the 172.

We have a standard 172 with the stealth fitted should anyone wish to see what it sounds like.

from what i saw on sun the whole backbox on the yozza system sits below the bumper and has a droopy dick, looks shocking, i hope it was broken

is that the same system you sell??
so if you want to take your car on track you have to have it sat there looking utterly toss???

ive got to say the car sounded sex wee but that exhaust really really let the whole thing down

have to admit, it sounded really nice but it looked pap, Yoz needs to change the backbox, cant you get your guys over in Macc to make you a custom one up as JP exhausts specialise in that kind of stuff

So I cant use the Yozza one if I want to take it on track? As it will have to hang down below the bumper even though it is supposed to be a stealth one?

Mat.

no idea, that's probably just like that on Yozz's car to be fair, as for the noise levels who knows, they all seem loud to me

our stealth one is exactly that, STEALTH, IE you can't see it!

ignore the one on the blue cup track car, thats just there to pass noise tests at circuits on that car

the irony being that the noise it makes being far from stealthy? still, the Cup is MUCH quieter than the last time I saw it

Thats why I like custom exhaust places like pro-speed you can walk in, tell em what you want it to look like and what sort of sound and volume you're looking for. Job done!
Imo you cant really go wrong with 172 systems theres not much to them, not many bends compared to some cars. Fair enough the 182 requires some snazzy backboxery for the twin exits but the 172's are about as straight forward as they come, I would imagine the differences between different systems in marginal.

e.g k-tech's system, very few bends, they all follow the same path as the stock one, centre box, backbox... unless the workmanship is compleatly shoddy there wouldn't be much difference between two systems of this design

agree with you to a degree, but it really depends where you go, I've seen some absolutely shocking system on 172's and Williams in my time lol.

One above does look nice. Still, I love my system, has everything I want. Quality, quite and non boomy on motorways, loud when driven hard, looks great and sounds the cats tits.

Magnex will be louder then gdi and ktec! magnex is a loud one;)

You think??

imo Magnex is one of the quieter systems by a fair way

Im running a Magnex centre section with a Prospeed stealth back box.

Got Charlie to make me it up so i didnt need to travel half the country. Had to wait for a Clio to go into his garage so he could copy the exact fit.

Didnt work tho as i had to get the piping totally re-worked to mate up to my Magnex!

I had a choice of bore. 2 and 1/4'' or 2.5''. As the Magnex is a 2.5 bore i went for that.

If your worried about noise got for the smaller bore but you might drop a bit of performance as a consequence

Me too, Ive seen some good and bad exhausts but at the end of the day its just a pipe and two boxes so theres not going to be a hell of a difference in performance... although one might fall appart before the other lol

pmsl, were you reading my mind when you typed that?

I'm thinking of the powerflow on mine... fell to bits, yet they were amazing on my Williams... Magnex was utter pish too.

lol yes! Like all this fuss over who's got the best de-cat pipe... one 2.5" piece of pipe from A to B is going to do exactly the same job as another 2.5" piece of pipe from A to B.
Yes everyone will pipe up about quality, welding and price but they all do exactly the same job!
And whats the point in a lifetime guarantee if you cant use it ;)
