Well only a few days before the Midlands RR day my gearbox has gone and died.....(DOH). I was driving down the road, came round a round about in second and *BANG* the diff went. Looks like its the Crown wheel and pinion so its either a complete rebuild or second hand box. Why do these things always happen when youve got no cash???
one option ive got is that the gearbox place ive used before said they could rebuild all the box with a closer ratio for about £450 all in. Or if i take the box out and put it back in theyd knock £250 off the price. I just cant decide whether saving the £250 is really worth all the hassle of doing the job myself.
