R27 Knocking Sound

Hey fellow reno nutters

My brand new R27 has now developed a rather irritating knocking sound in the extreme rear section of the car after only 1000km's on the clock. The knocking happens at low speeds whilst doing anything that involves turning or riding on a bumpy surface

Emptied out the boot only to realise that it has nothing to do with my tools or bags.

Anyone experienced this before? Would appreciate any advice

got a similar noise on drivers front side when turning full turn left and on bumpy ground or say going on any small ramps, in yesterday and they couldnt find a thing

ball joints and leaky shocks are prone to being faulty on the 197.

there also seems to be a problem with the steering rack on some which causes a knocking when turning.

Hey guys.

Thank so much for the response!

Went to renault today and they think that it is coming from the bodywork and not the suspension. It is at the extreme rear of the car so we lubricated the boot catches and left it at that for now. They said i should run it in fully and come back once its hit 3k km.

I will see how it goes but if it gets any worse or becomes untolerable i will book it in and get it fixed right away.

Btw, does a 197 have a switch at the end of the clutch motion? I can feel and hear a slight click at the end of my clutch motion about 1cm from the floor.

No my clutch is nice and smooth all the way.
Accelerator has a click at the end, it is there to disengage the speed limitor

i had the same knocking at the rear of mine was doing my head in until one day it just stoped and now its gone

my clutch clicks as well, i think this is normal.

quite a few do seem to have a click on the clutch.

mine had a noise from the back of the car.
sounded like the boot wasn't shut properly. but when you try the boot it is fine and cant make it do the noise.
just to make sure i tightened the boot catch up and it turned out to be just that.

the catch(not the lock) is held in place with 2 bolts through slots so can be just undone slightly and slid to make it a tighter lock.
you will need to take the boot trim of around the catch to get at the bolts, but its only a 5 minute job.

my car also developed this noise last 2 weeks
will try jase's advice..but the sounds seems to car from a "higher" place...Like tha sunroof or something.Or even the rear windshield.
I can live with plastic and window squeeks but this is just too loud and irritating
