r888 for £320

  172 cup, Impreza P1
Is the car lowered at all?

When I was running this size when lowered about 30mm it rubbed under heavy cornering on track.

they're avearage at best in terms of track tyre, don't believe the hype!

Night and day over road tyres on track though, but I know what you mean ;). I was speaking to a few people at donnington last week, and they recommended the new Yokohamas (not the A048), but can't remember the code (might have been AD08 R). similar price to r888's. Federal RS-R are also supposed to be very good.

Disagree. Tried them pretty much all over the years.

In the dry yes an A048 and Dunlop Direzza has slightly more grip.

But in damp and wet conditions the R888 is miles better. Most of my Lotus chums have all switched to R888's from the original A048's as they are FAR better in the wet.... and in this country. Thats important!

Although the have gone up in price they are still great value and last better than most competition as well (maybe the old Dunlop DJ01's last even better)

I really rate them. I still run them on 4 of mycars. They work especially well on lighter cars in my experience.

These are FAR better than average when all things are considered and at £320 for new set of 16's they are great great value

what do you reccomend instead Fred? :)

he doesn't sell them any more mate. Try Camskill.

They were hard to get hold of in certain sizes for a while so I always have few in stock! This is just my Clio pile!

plus 4 new ones on car... and ALOT of used ones that have track but not road or wet life left in em. Anyone need some?

I really like em! as you can tell hahahah
