RAC, need towing milage??

Car  e92 + E46 M3 + Cup
Basically gotta get my breakdown cover sorted this week, have only had 1 breakdown in the old clio, was with green flag at the time & they were shite, 3 hours to get me towed 8 miles back home  , so dont wanna use them again & have heard bad things with the AA so looks like the RAC are the way forward!

So been looking on line & thinking solution 1 would work for me, what do you guys think? - http://www.rac.co.uk/web/uk-breakdown/

Main thing for me is if i breakdown i just want to be able to get it towed home as i will do the work myself, more than likely be if i get a flat as now with it lowered i cant acctually get a jack under it lol

So main question, does the solution1 have a tow home milage limit? when i was with green flag & the cambelt went the guy said " your lucky you didnt get 2 more miles down the road as i would charge £3.00 a mile  , so working 40 miles from home = £120 + the original cost of cover :dapprove:

depending on the cover you pay for with them you get towed to a garage or home IIRC.

But to be towed you have to be at least 1/4 of a mile from your house ;)

I found this out and ended up coasting my car a mile down hill from my house just to get towed to a garage :D

i was with the AA, broke down in Wales, took me 8 hours to get home with them on 3 different transport trucks. trip of over 200miles. no extra charge!

although i did have to wait an hour or so which was crap! but to be expected these days!

Thanks for the input guys, still dont know about going down the AA route..... Spoke to my brother tonight & he needs cover too, RAC do joint cover for 2 people at the same address for £90 = £45 each  , i assume joint cover means 2 diffrent people, 2 diffrent cars just means we need to be at the same address which we are so should be all good right?

i work for rac :)

joint cover will cover the both of you as individuals. so and vehicle aslong as its not a van taxi or commercial vehicle.
but yeh solutions 1 we would assist aslong as 1/4 mile from home, but if we couldnt fix give a unlimited recovery within the uk

easy as pie lol

anymore questions drop me a pm
