Sounds cheap now mate aye.... My brother has it on his V6, Life time registerd, Was about £250 i think (dont hold me to that price) Worth it fella

If you buy a vee from new you get 1 years subscription for free, then you can either pay yearly or do a life time. I did the lifetime option, this is discounted for renault if you do it at point of sale or up to a month after, cost is £199.

there are better trackers than the RAC track star, there is a kit called the viper i think or cobra and it has loads of features on it, you can even call the car and ask it if its ok! shut it down by romote all sorts and it will ring you when its being stolen or moved without your say so! cool

the CAR track star is only a tracker, doesnt do much else

mike, the rac trackstar has several packages, i have the 24hr protector on mine, basically if somebody drives off in the car without using the key fob it activates the alarm at the base they then contact the police and myself. also if by some slim chance the thieving gypsie in question manages to steal the key fob i can still call them up to activate. i did a one off payment, cant remember how much but it was quite pricey, at first i thought it was overkill on a 172 but with tuning plans i now have its peace of mind eh. as james says there are other companies now with plenty of extras so look around, hope this helps.

Also..................telford_mike......................its bit like James Bond if it is activated a bleep appears on the screen at base and they just follow it and direct the police straight to it.

And say you went on holiday all you do is tell them the dates then if the car moves during that time then its automatically regarded as having been stolen and so activated.

I upgraded mine to lifetime, it was £195 two years ago.

They certainly monitor the car closely. When mine was written off the monitor service were calling me a lot as the car was being moved around.

If I had told them I was unaware of its location, the police wold have been called immediately.
