I say keep them. If it was a car that didn't have the power to back up having stripes, then yeah take them off. But seeing as it does, I'd leave them.

  Clio 172 mk2
I'm not a great fan of any graphics or stripes on cars so I would take them off myself

Just personal preference though....it does have the grunt and history to back it up:D

Theyre cool,

Theyre cool on cars that are meant to have them, Cups, minis, ford GTs etc but look gash on saxos

  Der Panzer
Keep them.

It's heritage. People who take the mick are just ignorant. Looks a bit special with them on.

Racing blue looks wrong without them, looks weird.. i agree that it attracts more attention though, which i guess cant be avoided.. keep them on

I think they are cool, but understand what you're saying about the stress of other ppl assuming you're a chav.

I've never had a worry about the stripes on my Rallye, although they are cooler ;)

I think there ace (but then i would). If the stripes were straight down the middle and about 15cm wide then they would be dead 'chavy'. They do attract attention but usually from people who know their cars which is no bad thing.

Remember if you choose to take them off in a few years of bright sunlight you'll end up with dark stripes over your car....nice.

Dan

EXACTLY. Remove IMHO.

I'd say keep them (only slightly biased)! I haven't really thought about un-wanted attention due to the stripes - after all we're driving clio's in a bright blue with dual exhausts and bodykit anyway, so the stripes don't make a huge amount of difference. I haven't had anyone do anything to mine yet (touch wood), and I would seriously question if it would be because of the stripes if it does ever happen.

Go for what you feel like....(and keep them!).

  MK1 V6 Lutecia / 197
Be different.......go Polka dot......current trends suggest this will be the next big Max power mod....

  Racing Blue 182
i had them on mine for adges, but i got sick of people saying they look'chav' and 'boy racer' and 'do they make it go faster?'

Also useto get random people chatting s**t about them

Removed them a few weeks ago

  Inferno 182 w/ Recaros ;)
I would keep them on. Can a mod make this a polled thread to make the results a bit clearer for the guy who started it?

I think it is all down to individual preference. I personally like the look of the one Deb182 has without the stripes.
