radar detectors

does anyone own a detector or can recomend one, so far im looking at a bell 550 and a snooper S5, I like the valantine one but its very expensive.

I am worried about how efective they are through the small panel on the 172 screen. will this affect the angle it can work at and the signal strength/ accuracy of the unit?

I have a Bel 330, and a few other members have the 550 (inc Jas). No problems with the detection range through the panel, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Mine has saved me more than once, and it gives you a fighting chance at least.

I have a Bel Euro 550 - great bit of kit although Id consider getting a Geodosey or Origin Blue at the same time!

i cant afford both a detector and a gps unit and so decided a detector was the best way to go

i heard they are very good when the plod are out with the guns because they have to point the beam straight at you, but gatsos you get less warning,



i would love one but they are still £300 minimum arent they?
