Radio Code DOH!

Hi folks,

Slight problem, The other day i disconnected my battery to reset my ECU, but in the process i forgot to ensure i had my radio code handy to reprogramme that once it was reconnected. The slip i had with a 4 digit code on turns out not to be the radio code, and on entering it i just get ERROR.

So anybody able to tell me which booklet i can find the code in?

I've took the HU out to see if its written on the top or back like some are - but no joy - all it says on top is date installed and D.CODE.

Would greatly appreciate the help cause the facking rattles aren't playing a nice tune.

contact renault dealer mate they should be able to get you it. Go back to the one where the car was bought that way they shouldnt charge you. Or someone on here might be able to get you it.

Car is booked in on friday for some diagnostic check on the ABS sensors, so hopefully dealer might be able to get it me - however i was under the impressions it was stamped on the paperwork somewhere?

should be on a sticker in either the warranty or service books. Along with loads of other numbers. Mine is.

Right today kindly got me my radio 4 digit code, which incidentally concurrs with a code on some sticker in one of my books (not labelled as radio code, just thought it was a random number). On inputting this number i am still getting ERROR on my display, and basically as i've tried to enter it a number of times its locked me out for a longer period of time.

Anybody any idea of whether it could be a different code, or some sort of generic 1234 type code? As the code really doens't want to work

Basically im using buttons 1,2,3,4 to enter the specified code and then pressing/holding button 6 (as it states in broken english on page 16 of radio manual) so i assume im entering it correctly? But then it just beeps "ERRRKK" and states ERROR.

I do have my CD Changer unplugged and my iPod is wired into that socket using connects2 adaptor, but i didn't think that would alter its behaviour. But im now wondering if during a precheck if it does some sort of CRC check with the Changer, although that seems far fetched.

So im stuck listening to my fking middle rear seatbelt rattling away on its magnetic clip, and a number of other rattles.

Yeh then my car can rattle even more, and i can sound like a complete chav too

Or i would find someone with some helpful advice who can help me ease my headache

any dealer should be able to sort you out, tho they might charge u (vauxhall wanted 15 qiud off a m8!!! ). i had to take mine back, nothing seemed to work. might be worth just pickin up an aftermarket unit cheap.

Well its booked into the dealer tomorrow morning to get my ABS fixed so hopefully as i know the bloke at the dealer he'll sort it for me.

Really want to keep it standard to be honest for a variety of reasons, but its puzzling why i can't get it working with seemingly the correct code.
