That is bad but you are always told not to stand on the outside of a corner for such reasons!! Stupid!

I was stood on the inside of a corner once and had to leg it as a Mk2 Escort came to mate with me. You're never safe on a rally, but yeh, outside of the corner is just asking for it.

Spectators stood in a stupid place, whats the rally driver going to do he's not a medic?

Carry on driving IMO.

Probably only lost 10 seconds tbh, good recovery.

Spectators are generally morons when it come to picking viewing positions.

I was marshalling on the RAC rally(many moons ago)and we actually closed a stage in Wales because some t***s would not move from the outside of the corner we were posted on.Said corner followed on from an absolute flat where cars would be travelling at well over 120mph on gravel. They would not listen so we radioed in to control and they cancelled the stage, that really pissed them off.

So you're saying that if you were driving that car and you hit those people, you would have just thought 'oh well, shouldn't have been standing there' and just carried on without a shred of concern for them? Riiiight...... trying explaining that to the families of the people you've just killed.

I can see your point, but standing there IMO you're pretty much garanteed to get hit. So self inflicted.

Depends how determined i was to win, you get in the mindset to win, nothing else matters at that time.

True, like doing that Bull run they do in Spain and expecting not to get trampled or hit by a bull.

I think if I had hit those people, I probably would have been in to much shock to continue, regardless of the mindset I was in really. Never want to experience hitting someone.

Good job the spectators were there, they cause less damage than tree's and help scrub off speed.
