Wheres a good place to get some ram for my laptop, pcworld, ebay, etc etc. hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Am looking for enough to play games like the new C&C, how muchw ill i need hmmmmmmmm ?
be careful with OCUK - ive had various probs with these guys - when they get it right - they get it right. When they get it wrong, they usually get it wrong because of stupidity - oh, and dont even bother to try and get them on the phone - although their web message system is rather good.
And then give us the information you have, graphics card just right click desktop go to properties then when it brings up a new window settings and it will say such and such a monitor on nvidia ati blah blah blah. That blah blah bit is your graphics card.
And stick to decent brands OCZ, Corsair, Geil, Crucial etc. Cheaper brands you can notice the difference and theres not usually a massive amount of cash difference in lower end modules. But get better warranty etc. Not sure if they still do it but all corsair modules used to come with a lifetime warranty.
you ideally want 1024 (1gig) or 2 gigs for next gen games. So best of just buying a couple of 512mb sticks. If your short on cash or 2 1gig sticks if you got a little more money to spend.
Sticks are the modules that you snap in. DIMMs for desktop applications or SODIMMs for notebooks. SODIMMs are more expensive due to their smaller form factor.
