Random popping

Iv noticed over the past couple if days, when i change down from 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd (i blip the accelerator for a smooth change, just a habit), i occasionally get quite a loud pop, as awesome as it sounds it cant be doing the cat much good.. Would blipping the accelerator be causing this?!

Also since it started doing it the engine management light has came on which my scanner tells me is the upstream lambda sensor (1st one) could this be a possible problem too?!

Upstream is heavily involved in the management of the engine / fueling etc. I'd check it's voltages/code see if it's kaput - and then replace.

Yeah the voltage is down, iv got a sensor waiting to be fitted when i get 5 minutes...

Hopefully that will solve the problem!

I've just started getting this too.... Need to get the lambda sensor replaced if that's what it is.

Mine's a bit more subtle though tbh, sounds like overrun.
