130i Road, 172 Track
Hey lads and ladies. Just did this update on another forum and thought I'd post it here too:
Just a few updates (been too busy lately ).
Been on the track a few more times now. Still not timed on a dry day at Wakefield since the first one but got a 1:58.7 at Eastern Creek (2nd time there, 1st time timed).
There's been a few more mods carried out since the initial post ;D
- battery replaced with Odyssey P680(?) (the small one) and relocated to behind passenger seat. Next project is to run the airbox straight off the throttle body to eliminate the 90deg inlet bend. Also fitted a kill switch to easily disconnect the battery when in storage.
- Quaife LSD fitted along with group N clutch cover and a sprung-centre cerametallic drive plate. Also a full gearbox refresh, clutch cable and CV joints
- K-Tec Racing Stealth SS cat-back exhaust + a 100 cell hi-flow cat
- RS Clio phI airbox with ITG filter
- picked up some 182 non-cup wheels for road duties.
Future:
- K-Tec Racing half-cage with harness bar is being made as we speak. When this arrives we'll finally fit the seats we've had waiting to go in, along with 5-point harnesses
- Some light-weight 15" track wheels are tempting (OZ Ultraleggs or TD Pro Race 1.2s) but will see once the current track tyres wear out
- Get a few scratches and dings fixed (got a nasty one on the front right from some **** who drove past when she was parked in the street)
- Trophy spoiler
- The new K-Tec ITB kit or the JMS Tuning RS2 manifold are looking quite tempting with the AUD strong at the moment!
But for now, she's running great, pulls like a train, is very forgiving to my amateur driving, and embarrass some fancy machinery on track! The LSD is a revelation - it makes you relearn about how to drive a front wheel drive car 8)
Now for some photos ;D (I think they're in reverse chronological order)
Cheers
