Raspy sound when accelerating

Hi guys. Wondering if anyone can help. When accelerating I get a very raspy rattly noise. Took it in to renault and they replaced the mid section of the exhaust but its still doing it. Any ideas what would cause this

Cat maybe? couse you usually get a raspy noise when you decat a car so maybe the cat has gone?

Does it happen when you rev it up stationary?? When you let off after a burst off acceleration does the noise go?

Could be a number of things, could be something simple like like an exhaust heatshield out of shape, could be something totally different like clutch release bearing on the way out.

Never heard of a decat causing a rasp. Mine gave it deep throat

my deact makes it rasp around the cat area, its not blowing tho.

Does it occur around 4000rpm? Kinda really buzzy noise, more noticable on over-run?

If so sounds like dreaded 4k rattle. Common fault. Suggest you do a search.

Can be due to a loose heat shield on the exhaust, but there are other causes.

Surprised Renault did'nt solve it if they went to the trouble of replacing the middle section. (Well not that much, this is Renault )

I get the same noise. It does my fecking head in.
If I am driving through an enclosed area with walls either side or houses/cars etc with the windows down and lightly speed up, it sounds like a bag of nails. It always sounds like it comes from the passenger side wheel arch area. I am not running the standard air filter and removed the thing (that valve thing, can't remember the name of it at the moment, attached to the horn). It used to do it before that as well though.
It doesn't do it when stationary, only when moving.

Cheers guys. Yeah is usually when you hit the higher revs e.g above 4000rpm. Pain in the ass though. Gunna check the heat shield see if that is rattling

Definately sounds like heatshield issues

i get the same thing, hear it more with passenger window down.

also have the pipe removed with cold air feed in now

but i have a mid-section which is straight throu to back box and a decat.
