Rattling/wining noise

Ive got a rattling/wining noise coming from my engine. Can only really here it at low rpm. It goes when i push the clutch or take it out of gear.

Anyone got any ideas?

Mine did something similar, iirc idle tensioner.

also if i depress the clutch when at about 70 as i release it seems to get worse.

Sounds like the gearbox to me.

took the car out today, if i hold the clutch in half way it makes a grinding noise like to plates rubbing! sounds almost like when u have no brake pads. It goes when the clutch is fully depressed or out of gear. You can here it when driving but not when accelarating. But seems to be louder when clutch is half way engaged.

any help would be great cheers.

I'd say the clutch is fucked

thats what i think but can select gears, pull off ect fine! Only thing i have noticed is i oly have to rest my foot on the clutch pedal and it slips!

thrust bearing would be cheap if u could buy this on its own but i think they come as a clutch kit but taking the box off and doing it if you can is time consuming but if you had somone to do it £££s unless you know somone to do it on the cheap
