Re-threading in Notts

  clio II 1.4 RT
What is it thats needing re-tapped?

You can buy taps and dies singally from your local motor factors, its easy to do.

Each tap will have their own drill size. as long as its tapped nice and square then no problem.

If the thread is knackered, it can be repaired by going oversize and inserting a stainless insert which will be very strong. Assuming it is accesible to do......I used to make them and the company did repair kits with necessary Tap, Threaded Insert and Application Tool. Metric and Imperial.

we use helicoils for stuff at work, they look like springs. Is this similar to what you had as I havent heard of any other ways of fixing knackered threads.
