re-trimming the steering wheel material

can any of you suggest where I might be able to get my steering wheel re-trimmed? It's going all wrinkly/gathered at the quarter to three position, and one of the thumb grips is peeling off. Has anyone had theirs re-trimmed, and what was the price roughly please?

I wouldn't mind mine getting mine done too. Has the 172 actually got leather or is it 'leatherette'? My mums Polo has a really nice soft leather on her wheel, would love the same.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for..

All our wheels are all patterned and hand stictched.

It takes approx 8 hours..average prices £150-£200.00 but we have done wheels that cost £350-£400.00(This one had a keyboard and mouse built into the centre and a chain stitch all around it..)

Never had any complaints as the quality speaks for itself..

one hundred notes! blimey! do you use gold thread or something? Fair's fair, and yep you do get what you pay for. Does the £100 make the rim look exactly the same as a new Clio 172 rim, or does it look a bit more special than that? I'm interested in what I'll get for my money, so I'll come and see you guys at FCS.

Out of interest, do you need to remove the wheel when you re-trim? No offence meant, I'm just a bit wary of airbags being disconnected etc. You PM, by the way.

I would say for what you want you would be looking at £150.00..I have mailed you some pics and you'll see why we charge what we do..

Oh and forgot to mention..we love trimming airbags..lol

We specialise in custom making them to your spec..if you want it..we'll do it..some people are put off by the price but the comments you get when people see the work make up for that..we have done may wheels for other cars and you only gotta see the comments people make about them in the forums to see its worth it..
Oh and I should also add that its nt so much the materials you are paying for but the skills..How would you fancy hand stitching something for 8 hours..cos yep thats how long it takes..Vinny is a total perfectionist and if he finishes it and hes not 100% happy with it it all gets taken apart and started again!

Cliosporters - I have seen pictures of the steering wheels that have been retrimmed by these guys, and - in the pics - they do look fantastic. It's worth requesting the pics just to get an idea of what's possible. Anyway, I'll be taking a look and having a feel for real at FCS.

Can you quote me to trim a 2 door car with rollcage all in leather? Is nappa a type of leather? I think its the soft stuff BMW use. I'd like to use something of that quality.

We only use Nappa leather as its the best quality..its what we used along with alacantara on Clio Lanes Re Trim.

Can you pm me with exact spec..are we talking full re trim..oh and does that include the roll cage..please say yes as we would love to do it!lol
