Rear Demister (Anyone Used This ?)

Ages ago while taking rear sticker off my rear window i hit the demister and took some of the cooper off it and now its not working (2 lines)

I have done some research on the matter and spoke to a couple of people who deal with windows and fitting them.

One guy says its good and the other 2 guys say its a total hit or miss if it works and its hard to apply.

I have seen THIS online but unsure if its decent, Has anyone used anything like this to repair theres ?

Ive used similar and echo both of what you heard, it does work but its a pain and it doesnt always last.

Was yours the copper or silver version ?

The guy says that the only other way to sort it is a new rear window and to be honest I'm not going through all that just for a couple of lines.

It was a silver version I used but was before ebay existed so might not be exactly the same.

Has anyone used the conductive glues you can get to stick the terminal down?

A bird flew in my 205, shat itself everywhere in a panic and caught it's wing on the terminal and took it clean off. b*****d.

If you have a hair line crack in the copper it works ok, anything more it's rubbish.

I took the tint off my window and had gaps of up to 1cm in the copper, it was unrepairable :evil:

Yeah its quite fragile, I cant see it working for 1cm gaps.

i used something like this on my mk1 clio worked fine just like painting tippex on, the template it came was rubbish though.

Used it on missus' s 1.2. It wasn't the best thing to use, but did the job and looked untidy but the fact it did the job was cheaper than a rear screen from a scrappy. Check Halfords as that is where I got mine from.

If i was to tape it up very carefully with masking tape and get the edges perfect would it work and be tidy ?
Im not wanting big blobs or squint lines all over the rear window as it would really annoy me.

It will stand proud of the line as its silver rather than the standard colour. It can be made to work, but I just wanted it to be functional.

Renault did some of this stuff. That was 6 years ago mind.
Did loads when I was a teccy never had a problem, just requires decent masking with masking tape and a steady hand.

have you looked into replacing the lot?? not a new window but u can buy like tranfers that replace. id imagine they'll only be universal though
