Rear fog light on dash coming on when braking!?

Hi Everyone,

Hopefully someone could help me...

When I brake the little light on the dash which comes on when the rear fogs are on is coming on when I brake.

The rear fog light it self isn't.

It's kinda annoying so if anyone could help me it would be much appreciated.

Simple Renault s**t wiring. Usually also a case that moisture has got into the sockets from the car wiring to the light block.

Go in your boot. There are bolts that hold the lights in place that have a three point plastic end that makes them easy to undo by hand. Undo these and your lights will come loose.

Have a look at the black square block of wires and ensure that it is completely dry. Use a hair dryer to lightly warm the block of wires, to get rid of any moisture. There should be a rubber square that clips into place, sealing the wiring blocks into the actual body of the car, protecting it from moisure.

Give the connectors a rub down with some sandpaper as well, most likely to be some rusting going on.

OK cool. I must admit... I didn't expect that from a 53 plate car but then I guess it is french!
