Rear lights & Wiring

Right.. a bit of a strange one this so i need a bit of help please..

My neighbour came out last week to say that i had a rear light out on my Clio. No problem i thought, id just bought myself some phase 2 rear lights which i was gonna fit at the weekend so i assumed it was just a bulb so id change it at the same time.

However, the bulb was fine. Checked the connector with my circuit tester and theres no current going to it. I have checked all of the obvious like bulbs, holders, fuses etc but found nothing.

Does anyone else have any ideas before i let the monkeys at Renault loose on it?

Thanks in advance
Si

*Might* be the following...

Theres a wire that runs behind the rear cluster on the left hand side (viewing from the rear) that can quite easily be split by the single bolt that holds the cluster in place.

This happened to me before, I just cut out the freyed wire and rejoined using a smallish connector block.

Awesome mate. Ill check that out tomorrow. It looks like youve done the same thing that im planning to do with the phase 2 rear lights so it could well be that.

Thanks for the help
