rear lights

i tried to fit the 182 lights off my car onto my mates v6 clio phase 1 model. they fitted ok but when turned lights on the indicators flashed and reverse lights were the indicators. any way of sorting that as he wants to fit those lights but i dont think there is a way

can you help
