Rear number plate light not working??

i have bought and replaced the bulb and tripple checked that it is not broken but it still will not turn on,

i have checked the fuses in the car (side of the passenger dash)

any one have anything else that i can do to try and sort it out,

its a 2001 Clio DCI 65,

The contacts corrode and fail, you need this mate.

^^^What he said......Had the same problem on my 1999 1.6 8v. take the numberplate lamp out of the bumper ar check the pins under the bulb.

Give the connection a quick rub down with sandpaper.

selotape a torch to your back bumper, just remember to switch it off when you put the car to bed.......

try this bad boy - will light up your number plate no problem, also comes with a handy in car charger so you can charge it on the move.

I had this problem, sanded the bulb contacts, and unpluged it totally from the wiring, cleaned up, sprayed some WD40 in there, and bobs your uncle its been ok since

Think you mite be stuck with the no white lights showing to the rear! That thing prob has enough heat to melt ur paintwork as well! Lol!
