Rear seat removal

Car  Clio 182
I'm going to strip the rear seats out of my 182 as I need a bigger boot.
For the guys that have done this did you add any soundproofing or lay down mdf?

Most of the people do this for track rather than making it into a van so noise isn't really an issue. It does definitely increase as you would imagine though, worse so if you have an aftermarket exhaust. I'm not sure how much the Ktec rear matt or such like will dampen the sound, its gotta help though.

I've got a Ktec rear Matt coming but that's just for the finish tbh.

I'm going to try a few things and will take some db readings with interior and without.
How accurate they are is anyone's guess though as its a iPhone app.

Clio discussion?

In answer to your question, it will be louder but not horrendously so. Mine has the k-tec rear mat (which is a good bit of kit to be honest) and a loud exhaust, but it's not awful. I can still hear my music above it, put it like that!

Rear seats and shelf now removed.
I've put sound stuff along both sides of the car behind all the panels and across the floor.
Once the mat arrives I will lay a few items under that.

Most of the noise seems to be getting through the tailgate and the plastic under it.
So i shall focus on those areas next n

Smart mat that. If I remove my rear seats I'd have one in a flash - bit steep though at £82 :dizzy:
