Hi

Okay. Well my car is due an MOT in the near future. If I take out my rear seats and seatbelts, will it still pass? I've heard yes from many people but I was getting a tyre changed where my car gets MOT'ed and I asked if it would still pass as its not there to test, just got laughed at.... He said its the law now that any car that came from factory with rear seats / seatbelts needed to have them for the MOT. I dont know much so didnt try and argue.

Thanks :)

mine did, had big sound system, no rear seats and no rear seatbelts so they didnt even check.
now ive put the seats back in but not the seat belts lol,
just gna take them out again for the mot,

The ruling goes...

If you have belts, you must have seats

If you have seats, you must have belts

So basically it is all or nothing!

you have to seats if you have belts?!

what about no seat belts, no rear bench, but a rear back rest folded down??

Don't see the point in that! Just take the back rest out too!

But as above if you've got seats you must have belts and if you've got belts you must have seats!

Beware the mot guy might ask you to re-classify the car as a van

Cheers for cleaing that up guys :)

Powey, I dont want him to do that do ? i assume different rules for vans, so ill make sure he puts in through as car?
